Who is Frugal Fred? Every person has within them the elements of a Fred. They are expressed in a desire to get value for your money, be treated honestly and shop without hype or frustration. Fred is an archetype, an icon representative of those values and a reminder of a simpler life and time. On a more personal note, Fred Anderson is an old high school friend that long ago quit going by Fred. He preferred Fritz but that’s another story. The name choice came about because nothing good came from my efforts to rhyme or alliterate something with Brad, which is my name. Bitchin Brads just didn’t cut it with anyone but my teenage skater friends. Frugal is such a fine descriptive compared to cheep or stingy. Penurious was similar but too obscure and hard to rhyme. Fred it was. From there it was a small step and a slight skip to ‘seeing’ Fritz as my physical model for Frugal Fred.

Where does pixie dust come from? For years people believed pixies gathered the dust of decaying moon beams and mixed this with some unknown substance to produce the flying powder we commonly call pixie dust. Recent research and a small bribe put this old wives tale to rest. The dust in question is actually some kind of dandruff like shedding that occurs between the fingers of pixies and collects in their pockets. Contrary to popular opinion, mere sprinkling of the substance in question will not produce the flying effect; it must be inhaled and then the product is not flying but flight as the victim flees the scene. Attended by a slight disorientation, sense of motion and rapid relocation one is taken by the impression of flying and is delighted to report same. More research is planned once we find that tiny little jacket again.
